Is KM Dead?

Over the years, I've occasionally participated in discussions about whether knowledge can be managed. The traditional understandings of management include activities like Plan, Organize, Control, Direct, and Staff.

Since I've come to see knowledge as being strongly contextual, I've tended to characterize "Knowledge Management" as a bit of an oxymoron. However, Dave Snowden has undertaken the quixotic task of returning the word "management" to its origin, which is more Complex than the current understanding (which is mostly Knowable).

That, and a number of other fascinating insights into KM are found in this interview of Snowden and Larry Prusak by Patrick Lambe. Highly recommended.
